What made me think of this?? Well The last two nights while nursing Isla I look down and see a toddler, a little walking talking person. Isla doesn't need to rocked to sleep anymore and she doesn't demand a lot of breast milk anymore. She is becoming more and more independent. When she talks my heart melts....I added up all the words in her vocabulary and we're at a whopping 20! 20?? Her doctor told us at her 12 month check up that she would be up to 15 by now and that was so hard to believe 3 short months ago.
Now where was I?? Oh yes so after I was done with our very short nursing session I placed Isla in her crib and said "I love you" and gave her a big kiss. Usually at this point she just lays down without a word. The last two nights that has all changed.....After I said "I love you" Isla popped up and happily waved to me and said "Bye-Bye" *heart breaking* Did she really just say "Bye-Bye" before I left the room? Does she really not need me to put her to sleep anymore? She is so smart and beautiful and it's amazing to watch her go from baby to toddler. It goes faster then you think!

Oh, how sweet! Of course she needs you to cozy her before bed and put her to sleep! Bye-bye is just her current way of saying "I love you, Mommy! Sweet dreams!". She IS amazing and beautiful and so is the woman who made her that way! Love you, Barbara Jean!!!
