So today started like every other day except instead of a trip to the park Isla and I went to college! I have been thinking about going back to school awhile now to study nursing so I called my dear friend to help me with Isla or she would try and tear down the school....and be a source of good birth control for the teenagers! I rush to get out the door because when you become a mother life is sped up, life moves faster then you ever thought possible and to finally get in the car, strapped in and ready to go is a cause for celebration. We pull up to the school and the parking lot is a mad house....."I remember these day's, 10 years ago seems like yesterday." Yes it has been 10 years since I've stepped foot on campus! Well the meters that were there to pay for parking are no longer there......You mean things change? I'm already running late Isla is already in the stroller and then I see it, metered parking! Well I don't have time to strap Isla back in, move my car and wait in a line to pay for parking so I risk it. As long as they don't tow me while Alex is out of town with our other car I'm golden.
I walk on campus with a stroller and a happy baby eating Cheerios and think "Damn I'm old now!" "I'm the oldest person here" "I'm the only person here pushing a stroller" "I'm really doing this?" I rush to find the building where I would meet an amazing guidance counselor and say good bye to Isla. Isla and my dear friend played in the grass and ate snack......I was told she loved running and the kids, yes I will call them kids loved seeing her run around happily!
After a long meeting I came out feeling good, feeling like maybe, just maybe I could do this. I told my counselor I was taking the 10 year approach and I was going to take my time and just try to have fun doing this. He thought that sounded like a wonderful Idea and wished me luck.
Now I have to take a placement test and leave Isla for 3 hours. I've never left my baby for 3 hours but I'm sure Alex can handle it and heck it gets me out of the house alone!
The best part of the morning was seeing my baby girl in the grass running. She looked up and saw me from the distance, smiled a BIG smile and came running over to me as fast as her little legs would let her and I gave her a big hug! I'm doing all of this for her, so I guess I just answered my question "Yes, I'm really doing this"

Thank you so much for the support, it really means a lot to me!
Wow, I'm so excited for you!! It is a big undertaking, but it sounds like you have the right attitude! I personally love school and the challenge of it all! I think I will go back in a few years, and I know I'll feel so out of place with all the "kids" :)
