As Isla gets older I feel sad.....sad that she's not my cuddly baby anymore. I love day's like today. I love when Alex and I can pack up and spend a day with our big girl. Alex took the day off so we could have a four day weekend together and the first stop was Crystal Cove State Beach.
Isla had a ball.....we packed her swimsuit and let her go crazy. She's at an age where she's understanding the world around her. Having a toddler can be challenging at times but I'm in love with the good times. I'm in love with my little family.
It's no secret that we love the beach. Isla loves the beach just as much. She made a little game for herself.....She would get a rock from the sand, run to the water and throw it into the ocean. She did this for 20 minutes. Without stopping.
She would run into the water with her daddy and run out pointing at and running toward mommy.
After playing in the waves we went to the tide pool and it was just beautiful.
We then walked up to the shake shack and enjoyed a shake and shared some burger and fries. Isla loved her hamburger and loved her sweet potato fries. It was such a nice surprise to be met by my cousin and Baron, her guide dog in training. Isla loved playing with "Wally" - every dog is "Wally" according to Isla Mae.
Isla was so worn-out she fell asleep in the car....she NEVER sleeps in the car. The sun drains you. Walking on the beach and playing in the waves drains you. It was an amazing day full of memories. I just love this little family of mine.
