Before we had kids our weekends looked like this: Sleeping in till 8 or 9, eating breakfast while laying around the house. We were never in a hurry to do much. We'd go out for a bit, watch the game, watch a movie, nap and just take it easy. We were just plain lazy!
Now that Isla is here we want to wake up and hurry out of the house. We want to see the world through her eyes. She gives us purpose. Our weekends are very different now and we beat the crowds by leaving early.
This weekend we visited the farmers market and Isla loved eating all the many samples of summer fruit. We went out to lunch as a family and on Sunday we visited the zoo. We saw lots and lots of monkeys, pigs, goats, and we saw a camel. Isla just loves "talking" to animals.
She makes the cutest little animal sounds. Isla can rawr like a lion, cock-a-doodle-doo like a rooster, maaaa like a goat, baaaa like a sheep, bark like a dog, naaaaaa like a horse and whooooo like an owl. We always laugh when she makes her animal noises, she makes us laugh a lot! On the way to the zoo we would ask her if she was ready to see the monkey's and she would let out a big "ee ee oh oh oh oh" We walked around for an hour and let Isla explore all the animals.
We took a little train ride around the park and I don't know if Isla liked it or hated it.....by the end of the ride she was all cuddles. We wore her out and knew it was time to head home. This zoo was only $8 and it was so worth it and fun!
I know she won't remember these experiences but I know she is learning from them. I love creating memories as a family.
