Happy 17 months Isla Mae

Okay didn't I just write out the 16 month re-cap? Where does the time go? Really? Our girl is 17 months old today and it's shocking to me that I have a walking, talking toddler! She is very much her own person. She has so much personality and I see so much of both Alex and I in that personality.

Isla loves to walk through the neighborhood and say "hi beep" to all the cars!

The past week has been tough. Isla has been very strong willed. She wants everything that she sees. She's been having full blown tantrums . When she chooses to have a tantrum I tell her "That's fine, when you're done I will help you." I let her be and she calms down eventually. She walks over to me with big tears, a quivering lip and a snotty nose and I just scoop her up. I know it must be hard to figure this world out and hopefully I can make that easier for her.

I know every mother say's it but I think my girl is so smart! She is saying some sentences, counting to 3, singing some parts of the alphabet and songs she knows.

Isla loves to read her "priddy" books....She will read these books all day. She loves to make the animal sounds and car sounds. She loves to point to the different objects in the book so I can tell her all about them. Her other favorite tou is her Elmo phone. She loves "taking" to Elmo on that thing.....and it's so funny to watch.

She's bright, funny, beautiful and so fun! It's amazing that Alex and I could create something so perfect. Watching her grow up is a bittersweet thing. I would give anything to cuddle that little Isla baby again.......I think I'd stay home and just cuddle her all day. On the other hand I love watching her grow and learn. I'm still lucky enough to get my cuddles and hugs. I also get much more sleep!

I can't wait to see what next month holds.
