Shots Suck!

I'm on a blogging roll lately.....I hope no one is sick of me yet!

I just laid Isla down to sleep and she was still whimpering. I always lay her down and say "night, night." "I love you."  She so sweetly said "night, night" then gave out a whimper. It's the kind of whimper that lets you know she's feeling yucky.

I just wrote this long post about her great well check. Everything seemed to have gone perfect. She came home ate lunch; colored for a bit and read some books......she was happy as could be. I put her down for nap at 1pm and she woke at 3:15pm. I could hear her whimpering, she never wakes up whimpering. She usually wakes up happy and reads her books that I keep within her reach. I went in and she started crying. "What's wrong?" I asked......how I wish they could tell us! I cuddled her, calmed her down and took her downstairs. I always have snack waiting for her at our coffee table and when I placed her down in front of it she cried again. Something was off for sure. I noticed she wasn't putting any weight on her leg.....I made her walk to me so I could see what was going on. She had to hold onto the furniture to get to me. My heart broke, my poor girl. I sat her on the couch and the tears and whimpering came. I call the doctor right away; they said it was a normal side effect. They said it could be a day or two of this.

Isla doesn't take shots well. She usually runs a fever or is sleepy and cuddly for a few days afterward. Like mother like daughter, I’m the exact same way!!

So it was an evening of cuddles and Nick Jr. here tonight. She started feeling a bit better and walking around easier once her Tylenol kicked in. I'm hoping she's all better tomorrow, I hate seeing her in pain. It's heartbreaking to see your child hurting and it's even worse when they can't tell you exactly what's wrong.

Every blog post has to have a picture, right? We did a lot of this today.

I hate shots! For Kin, they don't bother me much. Putting her on the alternative shot schedule turned out to be a great thing so far. She gets only one or two at a time and the reactions are minimal. You're so right about it being the worst seeing your tiny baby like that. Hugs to you and Isla and prayers that tomorrow is better!
