19 months and counting

Every month it becomes more and more apparent that Isla is a little walking talking person. She has reached a point where we can have conversations. She can express her needs and wants and I can respond. This month has been filled with so many new words and statements. Words that were once hard to understand or baby talk have turned into real words. Isla can now tell me when she’s hungry, thirsty, tired or board. She will ask for help by saying "help please" and will tell me when she's done eating by saying "all done." She loves to count to 14, sing Twinkle, Twinkle, sing her ABC's and loves to read books. I can't help but feel proud whenever she learns something new.
My favorite new phrase is “daddy where are you? Where did daddy go?” She will replace daddy with mama, Wally or any other thing that she wants at the moment. She’s such a big girl now.
This month was also filled with growing pains. There were a couple of weeks that a lot of tantrums were thrown and boundaries were pushed. Looking back I think this had a lot to do with her not feeling well.
She is no longer a baby. She is a little girl and it’s so bittersweet.
I know I say it a lot but nothing prepared me for how fast the time would go. Sometimes I don’t even remember what she was like until I look back at a picture. She was a beautiful baby!

These pictures were taken one year ago!

When Isla was born I would try to imagine what she would be like at this age. I would wonder what she would look like, sound like. I always know she would be opinionated, outgoing and talkative....I knew the minute I heard her first cry. Now I can’t help but wonder what the next 5 months will bring. She changes so much month to month…..it’s really unbelievable.
What a little blessing this girl is.

I just can't believe what a big girl she is! Counting to 14?! Holy cow! I find it so amazing that she's able to ask you for things now and let you know how she's feeling. It must be so fun for you to have conversations with your little girl! Love you guys!
