Updates Galore!

I’ve been too lazy to blog. I don’t even know if lazy is the right word, I think tired is the right word. I’ve been too tired to blog. I’ve been on a cleaning kick so that’s been taking up nap time and by Isla’s bedtime I’m pooped.  I go to bed too late and it becomes a vicious cycle. I was never this tired when I was working 7-3:30. Why is that I wonder? Is it because I got to sleep till 10:00am on the weekends? Is it because once 3:30 rolled around the only person I had to worry about was me? Yes I’m sure that’s it. Thankfully I had more energy today so let’s hope the fog has lifted.
She looks so big here!
While on my cleaning kick I decided to de-clutter, become a little crafty and started buying Isla’s fall/winter wardrobe.
New baby/toddler wardrobes are so much fun! The scariest part…..Isla is getting too tall for 2T. That just blows my mind! How is it possible that my 20 month old is fitting into 3T? I bought some of the long sleeve shirts in 3T so they would last all winter. My favorite thing to buy Isla is PJ’s; I’m a sucker for cute PJ’s.
My beautiful baby!
We said good-bye to Isla’s huge dirty highchair this weekend. I hate that highchair. As I placed it in the garage I did feel a little sad. I didn’t miss the high chair but I missed the baby that once used it. She’s a big girl now. She loves her new little booster seat as much as mommy loves all the new space in the dining room. As she sat in that chair the first day I sat across from her and talked to her….I asked her how it happened? She was JUST a baby? She ate her lunch and chatted with me, it was a bittersweet moment for sure.
mmmmmm.....soup
Elmo needs to eat too.

After her nap yesterday we made play dough together. This recipe is super easy and I used to make it with my class back in the day:
Ingredients:
1 cup of flour
1 cup of boiling water
2 tablespoons of cream of tartar
a half cup of salt
1 tablespoon of oil
Directions:
Simply mix all the ingredients together! Be careful as it can be quite hot.

She wanted to eat it so bad!``
There are so many fun recipes online to try.
I continued on my craft kick….I guess you can call it a craft kick. I wanted to introduce Isla to some sensory bins. I bought some beans, a bin and some animals to go inside the bin. Isla fell in love with this activity. I taught her to say “bucket” and explained that the beans stay in the bucket. When she did drop some she would say “bucket” and put them right back where they belonged. Now if I’d left the room this would have been a huge mess. I stayed next to her the entire time and we chatted, played and I really enjoyed it just as much as she did.
Only my child would sit in the sensory bucket!
I try to be present. It all goes by so fast; she’s growing right before my eyes. I’m trying to just enjoy the little things, the little moments and this blog helps me document it all.

I've missed you!!! I do need to write to you on FB because I miss hearing about you and Isla, but I've been tired and kind of out of it lately, too!
Here's to fall, new seasons, and lots of fun stuff coming up ;)
That's crazy the sizes she's wearing! I'm bummed because Ellie's 18-month fall wardrobe is still too big :/
